MOVIDA CORONA WORLD DJ TOURNAMENT 2008 – UK LEG

Celebrate the DJ Artform with CORONA EXTRA.

Do you think you are the next Roger Sanchez, Eric Morillo, Steve Angelo or Fedde Le Grande?

There are not many undiscovered DJ’s that haven’t dreamed about rocking down the house at THE MINISTRY OF SOUND to a packed house. But in reality, with the explosion of DJ culture in the nineties, it often means getting there is very very difficult.

Now CORONA EXTRA gives you the chance to live that dream.

We invite club DJ’s to perform a snapshot of their best mixing techniques at the UK’s most exclusive bars at scheduled MOVIDA CORONA parties.

Participating bars host the qualification heats of MOVIDA CORONA during June and July with 2 or more pre-heats according to demand. (SEE "EVENTS" FOR FULL SCHEDULE)

The best DJ from each bar will qualify to the MOVIDA CORONA CITY FINALS.

As the city champion the 1st place DJ from each city final will compete in the exciting UK FINAL at the world famous MINISTRY OF SOUND IN LONDON on 21st October 2008.

In 2003 Midlands DJ Andy Milford put rival mixing maestros in a spin to clinch the world title.

Now responsible for arranging Movida Corona throughout the UK, Andy remarks “This is a tournament for passionate DJs, who believe that DJing is not just a matter of putting records on, but is a ‘bona fide’ art form requiring a credible platform; the Movida Corona contest provides that platform”.

2007 saw DJ Afro Thunder from Northern Ireland win the World Title pipping the UK champion DJ LA Gosse to the post in the Glamorous ARTS CAFE in Rome, Italy.

To make things EXTRA special this year Corona Extra have teamed up with PACHA to put up for grabs a dream come true experience of guest djing at a series of selected dj parties at PACHA clubs around the world.

So it's all to play for, do you think you have got what it takes?
